Visitor Info

Home to one of the oldest cinemas in the UK (the Dome Cinema) and an Edwardian covered shopping arcade the town has plenty ‘worth’ visiting and lives up to its name meaning – ‘place of worth’. The area dates back to pre history with the greatest concentration of Stone Age flint mines in Britain.

More recently Oscar Wilde stayed in the town in 1893 while writing the Importance of Being Earnest. Nobl Prize winning playwright Harold Pinter made it his home in the early 1960’s.

Local areas of natural beauty include the highest point in Worthing, Cissbury Ring, and the local Worthing Downland Estate (Worthing Downs) part of the South Downs National Park.

PLEASE NOTE:
Due to unforeseen circumstances there will be no Town-Live Comedy
