Waterfront Festival
Set on the tranquil Orwell Quay, the Waterfront Festival is set to cause a stir with international street foods and a great selection of ciders, real ales, craft lagers and gins topped off with plenty of fizz.
Live Music Stage and entertainment for children completes the offer on a weekend when there is plenty happening in and around Ipswich.

There is plenty going on over this weekend with the Ipswich Jazz festival in full swing and the Suffolk Pride Parade leading through town to end up alongside our event on the Waterfront. Adding to what promises to be a lively weekend, the Waterfront Festival brings live music, entertainment for children, together with fantastic food and drink in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
The new focal point for Ipswich, its waterfront is a hugely attractive destination with a marina, swish new residential developments and an ideal event space as part of the offer. A new bridge is soon to connect the town with the waterfront and make for easier access. Past events have shown just how busy Orwell Quay can get as locals and visitors alike take advantage of this coolside environment.
The modern name is derived from the medieval name Gippeswic, probably taken either from an Old Saxon personal name or from an earlier name of the Orwell estuary (although unrelated to the name of the River Gipping). It has also been known as Gyppewicus and Yppswyche.
