Chippenham Food & Drink Festival 2024
Much merriment in Monkton Park this summer as the Chippenham Food and Drink Festival sets up to provide three days of entertainment for the whole family.
Great grocery foods and quirky crafts, superb street foods and liberal libations from bars of distinction together with park party entertainment including live music stage, fairground rides, children's comedy and workshops. Here's to feeling chipper in Chippenham with a big serving of foodie fun!

- Suzan Ruben-Alderton – Fairy in a Pop Can
- Suzan is an author who has written her own book, with proceeds going to charity. If you are lucky enough you will hear the author read her story for you.
- Froggle Parties
- Children’s entertainer on Saturday and Sunday; walkabout and designated shows, with a variety of the following, comedy magic, puppet shows, bubbles and touchable bubbles (bubbles that don’t pop when you touch them), rocket balloons, balloon modelling, music and games. Website

Sited on a prominent crossing of the River Avon References to the name ‘Cippanhamme’ date back to Anglo-Saxon times C AD600.
The Domesday Book (AD 1086) notes Chippenham as Chepeham, having a population of 177 households.
Growth due to the river and C16 wool industry and later the railways has seen the town grow, with the latter contributing to it becoming a major centre for the production of dairy and ham products, leading to Nestlé and Matteson’s having factories in the town.
Notable locations include the stone ‘Buttercros’s structure, in the centre of the town, which dates back to C1570 & the C18 Chippenham Museum which tells the story of the town and the beautiful River Avon and associated walks and cycle way.
